YoshiBlade Review - Why I Really Like My Own YoshiBlade Ceramic Kitchen Knife
Maybe I was lucky but we love our YoshiBlade. Really for only $19 how could you go wrong? If you look at all the pro ceramic blades you see that they are a lot more than the YoshiBlade. Think of this knife set as an intro to ceramic blades. I have not seen the infomercial nor the ad on TV. So when I acquired this it was mostly a curious tool to use in the kitchen. All I can say is that this particular blade is amazingly sharp. It slices tomatoes, citrus, bread, cucumbers and other vegetables wonderfully.I am a vegetarian so I have no experience with this cutting meat. The YoshiBlade will chop through tofu very easy. The minus 1 star is because sometimes it is very difficult to get the knife to begin a cut. In my opinion it is mostly due to the design of the tip. If you have any skill in the kitchen with chopping things you will easily figure out how to properly use this blade. Also, the peeler is more of a novelty and I have just used it with moderate success on carrots.
Always use a wooden or plastic slicing surface. Almost 100% of dulling of blades comes from cutting on inappropriate surfaces such as stone, steel, mica; this is true for ALL blades, not just ceramic. Check the web for video tutorials showing this. Hand wash this blade, dishwashers will destroy it.
If you do not own a ceramic blade you should look at the YoshiBlade ceramic knife as the ideal intro to this class of kitchen utensils.
